Clements was formed in 1983 by two brothers Keith and Kevin Dutton. It has been a family run club ever since. From the previous Chairman William Barry Dutton (Dad) down to the Under 15’s Team Tyler Skinner son of Lisa Skinner (Dutton). At some stage every member of the family has been involved with the club either on the field or behind the scenes.
The team are a home grown team coming through the ranks of the youth set up.
The Saturday team is Managed by the eldest of the three brothers Barry Dutton, who himself was a player for the Clements until recently. The Sunday team is Managed by Keith Dutton one of the club founders, he is also the secretary of the club.
After our first season in the Midland Combination League we won the Challenge Urn for 2009 and we also won the Stan Mansell Hospitality award, as overall winners of the League.
Our Sunday team also made it to two semi-finals and one quarter final but fell short due to injuries and the long season they had gone through. They have been promoted to the Premier Division of the Coronation Football League.
With the upcoming season ahead we are gaining more and more players interested in joining our large family group and we hope to progress even further.
We are a club that helps to raise sponsorship for other avenues and in the past couple of years we have helped raise over £21,500 for Ethan’s goal supporters of Birmingham Children’s Hospital playing charity matches against Aston Villa All Stars and Birmingham City Old Boys. Rob Thompson the father of Ethan ran the London Marathon this year and we are waiting for the final amount raised.
